Young researchers at GERSEQ44

On 3-5 July 2024, the Annual Meeting of the Spanish Electrochemical Society GERSEQ44 took place in Bilbao, Spain. Universidad de Burgos and IMDEA Energy took the opportunity to attend with their young researchers from their MeBattery teams.

Gimena Marín Tajadura from Universidad de Burgos took part with giving a talk on “The Impact of Solid Booster Confinement in High-Performance Redox Flow Batteries”. It was presented within the scope of the symposium on electrochemical energy conversion and storage. It covered a new strategy for efficient packing of solid boosters and the fundamental aspects of the confinement of the solid booster in the external reservoir, vitals for the charge transfer kinetics, pressure drop, and energy density.

Antonio Martínez from IMEDA Energy prepared a poster entitled "Study of the mediation between dissolved redox species and solid redox polymers for their application in mediated flow batteries" and participated in the poster session.

With over 220 attendees in up to five parallel sessions and poster presentations, the conference offered a wide variety of topics and ample opportunity to network and interact with peers.
